The first-ever ESL Pro League Conference concluded Sunday with GODSENT and Sprout engaging in a tightly contested three map series that resulted in two 16-14 exchanges in favor of GODSENT, securing them the final Pro League qualification slot by way of the Conference.
Sprout started the series off hot on their pick of Ancient, winning pistol and the following four rounds after. GODSENT would gain their footing and would close the half down one round at 7-8, but Sprout’s CT-side was too stout and they could only win three of eleven rounds in the second half before losing 11-16. Heading into GODSENT’s pick of Mirage, Sprout had full control of the series. They maintained that control at the start of the second map, taking a commanding 6-1 lead on CT-side before closing the half 10-5. GODSENT flipped the script in the second half, showing off their even stronger defensive efforts, allowing only four rounds in the second half to edge Sprout 16-14 on map two. As is tradition, Inferno was up next.
GODSENT started map three on T-side but was unwavered by Sprout’s defensive efforts on Inferno in the early rounds. They took a 7-3 lead before Sprout found their bearings and closed it out 8-7. With the final map dead even, GODSENT needed someone to answer the call and get them over the hump. That individual was Bruno ‘b4rtiN’ Câmara, who took over for his team-leading the server in frags and K/D difference in the final map to complete GODSENT’s quest to ESL Pro League.
