Sources have informed Rush B Media that Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit is in talks to join Cloud9’s CSGO team as their new Head Coach following the departure Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović just over a week ago due to incongruities between the IGL and their coach. As CSGO GM Henry “HenryG” Greer looks to retool his staff before the 2021 season, he has turned to the former Gen.G coach who was recently allowed to explore his options.
Elmapuddy is no stranger to the Cloud9 organization, having started as an Assisstant Coach in September 2019 alongside former Head Caoch James “JamezIRL” Macaulay and former Head of Data Science Soham “Valens” Chowdhury. Elmapuddy moved on from Cloud9 only three months into his term when Gen.G acquired Damian “daps” Steele, Kenneth “koosta” Suen, and Timothy “autimatic” Ta in December 2019. While with Gen.G, Elmapuddy was able to guide the team to victories at Dreamhack Open Anaheim 2020 and the ESL One: Road to Rio – North America.
This time, Elmapuddy could be returning to Cloud9 as the Head Coach alongside Josh “m1cks” Micks as his Assistant Coach, who has been with the organization since the original ATK acquisition in January 2019. Cloud9’s next upcoming event is the IEM Katowice 2021 Play-In on February 16th, 2020. This event is a LAN studio event, one of the few since COVID-19 has impacted the worldwide tour circuit.
This report comes after today’s news from HLTV and 1pv that Cloud9 is also interested in Erick “Xeppaa” Bach as a sixth man. The report claims that the two sides are close to an agreement at this time.
In response to a request for comment. Cloud9 CSGO General Manager HenryG responded with;
While nothing has been made official as of yet, it is no secret that we are in deep talks with Chris ‘Elmapuddy’ Tebbit. He’s an absolutely fantastic coach and negotiations are going extremely well.
