Nerd Street Gamers have announced that Fragadelphia is set for an earlier than expected return in mid-October. The newly announced NSG Winter Championships will feature a new points circuit, akin to Valve’s RMRs, concluding with a 32 team event. The first two qualifying events have also been revealed, taking place in Bakersfield, CA and North Brunswick, NJ.

The circuit will feature weekly and monthly events which will award different points values as well as the latter having direct qualification slots to the finals. Eight teams from four monthly events (two teams from each) will be joined by another eight from a last chance qualifier hosted on the Friday before the finals. Another sixteen teams will also qualify from the circuit points standings. The circuit will be concluded with the finals at Philadelphia in March 2022.

The previous edition of Fragadelphia saw four local qualifier events hosted by NSG and Localhost concluding in a 34 team final event in Philly, where the majority of teams entered via entry fee sign-up, but this will not be the case for Fragadelphia 16 which will have an entirely closed finals event. The move to a points circuit follows a unification of format for NSG which ran a similar format for their Summer Championships in VALORANT, Apex Legends, and Rocket League among others.

The first two weekly events will be taking place on October 16-17th and October 30th-31st — each awarding a total of 2,560 points and up to $2,500 in prize money. Further events have not yet been announced although the monthly events will award a total of 5,120 points. The full ruleset for the circuit can be found on the NSG website.
