According to sources close to Rush B Media, Evil Geniuses have now moved their attention toward Will ‘RUSH’ Wierzba as the move for Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså has seemingly broken down following a week of discussions between Evil Geniuses and OG. The news of valde remaining on OG comes following the news reported by neL and Luis Mira today that a swap deal between G2 and OG for Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, with nexa being understood to be an admirer of valde and wanting to work with him on OG upon his arrival.
Another factor for the breakdown of valde’s proposed move to EG comes from the fact that the roster lock for the next BLAST event on the 7th of January, making it difficult for the organizations to come to an agreement prior to the deadline. The remainder of the Evil Geniuses roster has started to fill out. With prior reporting confirming that Jake “Stewie2k” Yip had all but been confirmed with the roster, he will also be joined by Timothy ‘autimatic’ Ta who has already agreed to terms with the North American organization. However, there will not be a reunion with fellow former Cloud9 Major Winner Tarik Celik who has departed the organization after two years.
RUSH’s name was attached to Extra Salt at the start of the new year, with reports stating they were intending to build a roster around him. With EG’s attention back on RUSH, Extra Salt will have to look elsewhere for their rebuild. RUSH will be no stranger to this roster having competed with autimatic and Stewie2k during his time on Cloud9, where they beat Faze Clan in the 2018 Boston Major after being down 15-11 on the final map. And coincidentally, these three former Cloud9 members will be joining an organization where their former coach Soham ‘valens’ Chowdhury is in a non-player role as the head of Data Science.
Rush B Media reached out to a representative of Evil Geniuses who declined to comment. RBM also reached out to Will “RUSH” Wierzba who did not respond at the time of publication.
